CALL BEFORE YOU DIG - APRIL IS PA 811 SAFE DIGGING MONTH
April is National Safe Digging Month, a great reminder to always contact 811 before you dig! No matter how small your next home digging project is, remember to keep yourself and your community safe by contacting 811 to have the approximate location of buried utilities marked with paint or flags before breaking ground.
For over 50 years Pennsylvania 811's mission has been to prevent damage to underground facilities. In 2023, Pennsylvania 811 received 1 million excavation notifications, and transmitted approximately 6 million notifications to their member facility owners and operators allowing essential utility and construction crews to provide vital underground services and repair to critical infrastructure to communities throughout Pennsylvania.
Peters Creek Sanitary Authority (PCSA) encourages everyone to get involved with promoting safe digging practices within your community. The call before you dig process helps to prevent injuries, property damages, inconvenient utility outages, and fines. Safe Digging is a shared responsibility among excavators, homeowners, facility owners, municipalities, cities and county level management and planners. Please join PCSA in raising the public's awareness of underground safety. Pennsylvania 811 Safe Digging Month serves as a reminder to all excavators and homeowners to call 811 at least 3 business days before you dig. Learn more at 811beforeyoudig.com.

PCSA understands the unforeseen challenges our customers have faced over the last several years due to COVID-19.
The PAHAF supports homeowners in the Commonwealth who are financially impacted due to the pandemic. This program has reopened as of March 18, 2024 and accepting applications from Pennsylvania homeowners. Even if you have applied in the past, you are able to reapply again. PAHAF has $52 Million left for homeowners who qualify throughout Pennsylvania and they will continue to accept applications until the funding is used up.
